How they work all together
We designed the KazERASER to move in a path parallel to the ground. We controlled the KazERASER’s motion using an Arduino Uno and feedback from an accelerometer. The KazERASER sticks to the white board by taking advantage of the attractive force between the two mounted magnets and the whiteboard’s metal frame. The magnetic force allows the onboard eraser pads to wipe away dry erase marker writing by providing a sufficient normal force. The push buttons mounted on the eraser pad sense when the KazERASER reaches the side edges of the whiteboard. At this point, the KazERASER reverses direction and continues to erase the board.
